Is the color pink difficult to find in Toronto? Yes....and no. Right now, when Spring is springing, there is lots of pink around. Blossoms are everywhere - and of every sort. Pink tulips, pink rhododendrons, pink fuchsias, and lots of pink flowers whose names I don't know. So that's a "yes" right now.
Signs of pink: But even during non-Spring months there is pink. If you look out for pink as you walk around Toronto's streets, then you might be surprised at how much pink you can see. There is a lot of non-blossom, all-seasons pink to be seen on an every-day basis. First up, pink is often used in signs and street art, because it is so eye-catching:
People in pink: Second, people often wear pink. Sometimes pink can be the main event - as shown with the dress and pullover below. More often it is a contrasting detail for an otherwise bland or grey outfit - as in the leggings worn by the woman below. Yesterday I saw a man wearing casual clothes that were colored black, grey and white. The pink band in his hair set off his whole outfit with pizzazz.
Since writing this blog I've been noticing even more pink on and around the streets of Toronto. And I've been noticing the smallest touches of pink such as the pink of a cat's nose and the pink of a pigeon's feet (or claws, as they are named when being precise).
