Chipping Sparrow in St James Cemetery

More birds are returning to the city or visiting us as they head further north for their Spring migration. Here's a sparrow that I saw in St James Cemetery, which is near the corner of Parliament and Wellesley. Cemeteries are great places to wander to see birds and other wildlife. This is a "chipping sparrow," with its distinctive russet colored cap and black line across its eye. Would you say "russet" or orange or rust-colored or some other color? Next up I am going to create a coloring in picture using Mimi Panda, and maybe an abstract version that shows what I think is the essence of this little bird. Why is he called a "chipping sparrow" I wonder?
